Hey guys!
There are a thousand of shorts styles in the market but sometimes you just know what you want and the best way to get what you want is doing it yourself. Today I will show you a quick and easy tutorial on how to your own distressed shorts.
Tools:
Jeans (I got this Levi’s in Saks Panama for $12.00!)
Board or Magazine
Scissors
Ruler
Marker
- Try on your jeans and measure how long you will like your shorts to be.
- Draw a line with a marker
- Cut it. Try to make the back part longer so it doesn’t looks too short when you finished. (Remember you got a butt!)
You can stop here or continue.
- For a distressed look insert a card board or a magazine in the leg. With a scissor or a x-acto knife and do horizontal strikes on the fabric. There are more complex techniques to get the distressed look, but I like the easy way: after cutting the areas you want put it in the washing machine. It will finish the job!

I leave you some pictures to show you how I did it. I’m looking for this exact jeans model (and price!) to make another shorts and to keep the other one the same way. I will continue my search!

No hay duda de que hay miles de estilos de shorts en el mercado. Hay veces que sabes que es lo que quieres y la mejor forma de conseguirlo es haciéndolo tu mismo. Aquí les dejo un tutorial divertido y rápido de cómo hacer tus propio shorts rotos.
Materiales:
Jeans (Conseguí estos Levi’s en Saks a $12.00!)
Cartón o Revista
Tijeras o x – acto
Regla
Marcador
- Pruébate los jeans para medir qué largo lo quieres.
- Dibuja una línea con el marcador.
- Córtalo. Trata de hacerlo un poco mas largo en la parte de atrás para que no se vea tan corto cuando lo termines. (Recuerda que tienes un trasero!)
Puedes parar aquí o continuar.
- Para un distressed look mete el cartón o la revista en la pierna. Con una tijera o con un x-acto empieza hacer líneas horizontales en la tela. Hay formas mas complicadas para conseguir este resultado pero me gusta la fácil: una vez que hayas terminado de hacer los cortes mételo en la lavadora. Esta terminará el trabajo!
Súper fácil, cierto!
Bueno abajo les dejo unas fotos de cómo lo hice. Muero por conseguir ese mismo modelo de pantalón para hacerme otro shorts y otro que lo dejaría igual. Seguiré con mi búsqueda!
