How to Wear Scarfs in the Tropics

Scarfs can be forgotten in the tropics. We are used to seeing people wearing them in colder temperatures but we forget the million other ways they can be styled during the summer. I was one of those, until one day I was going through my Instagram feed and realized I wasn’t giving them the appropriate use. For those wanting to wear a second layer, this is an easy way to do it without having to actually wear an extra clothing piece. In this post, I used it as a way to add some color to my black and white outfit. I only threw it on, but there are other ways you can wear them, which are pretty original too.

Scarfs as a Belt:

Want to switch it up from wearing a classic leather belt? Use a colorful scarf. It might not provide the same support as a belt, but it will be an easy way to transition your outfit from winter to summer.

Scarfs as a Hair tie:

If you don’t want to invest in a bandana, scarfs can be the way to go. They will give you a fun, vintage summer look whether you wear your hair as a high bun or a ponytail.

Scarfs as a Bracelet:

In the last few years, I’ve seen a growing trend of using smaller scarfs as bracelets. I love how it looks by itself, but wearing them with a gold bracelet steps up the look.

Scarfs as a clothing item:

If your scarf if big enough look for some ideas on Pinterest on how to create a top, skirt and more. It’s a great way to expand the use of the pieces in your closet.

Be creative. Scarfs can be one of the most versatile pieces in your closet. They don’t have to be forgotten when the temperature rises. Leave the colorful ones out and see how to mix them up with your summer pieces. You’ll be able to create some great outfits!

Por lo general no usamos bufandas o pañoletas en los climas tropicales. Estamos acostumbrados a ver a la gente usarlos en temperaturas más frías, pero olvidamos las mil y un formas en las que se pueden usar en el verano. Yo era una de esas, hasta que un día, revisando mi feed de Instagram me di cuenta de que no les estaba sacando provecho. Para aquellos que quieran usar una segunda capa, esta es una manera fácil de hacerlo sin tener que usar una pieza de ropa adicional. En este post, la usé como una forma de agregar un poco de color a mi outfit. Solo me la puse en el cuello, pero hay otras formas en las que las puedes usar.

Correa:
