29 Years Young

Hello guys!

Now I am 29 years young. This post was supposed to come out on the day of my birthday but I didn’t know what to write. I wanted something fun and corky that would be more me. I don’t look back that much but is good to do so every now and then to see how I have changed. Going through the pictures of each of my birthdays I realized there are friends that are always there, how much my family loves me and what things have been constant each year. Since this is my last year in my twenties, I decided to look back on the last nine years to see where I was. Continue reading for a few old pictures and a quick view of what happened each year.

I was in my sophomore year of college. I can’t stop thinking how clueless I was about life.

This was the year I finished college and had to decide what I wanted to do next with my professional life.

2011: the year I got my law degree and with a couple of friends/colleagues had the crazy idea of beginning a law firm. Who would have thought I was going to do that for the next 5 years!?

It was a crazy year. I accomplish things I wouldn’t have imagined with the firm. My personal life was about to get turned upside down.

See me here. You would have thought I was a big party girl. I just wanted to do something fun for my birthday since it was on a Friday or Saturday. That was also the year I went to China and hands down, it was one of the best trips of my life even though half of it was for work.

This was one of the most challenging years for me. I had some career doubts and emotional issues. Working out was one of the things that got me through.

I was still dealing with some issues but was finally deciding what I wanted to do with my future. The only doubt in my mind was how to do it. Nothing exciting happened on my birthday that year since it was the same day as father’s day.

Went out with my friends to celebrate what I thought would be my last birthday in Panama (at least for a while). Funny that this past weekend we went to the same bar for my birthday. The place was so quiet and empty. It is interesting how things can change in a small amount of time.

First time I celebrated my birthday away from my family. I thought it was going to be hard but it was nice and quiet. Two of my good friends from school invited me for dinner. It was a good time.

I wasn’t in the mood of celebrating but my friends convinced me to do so. Even though I didn’t do anything big it was fun to spend some time with them.

Se suponía que esta publicación saldría el día de mi cumpleaños pero no sabía qué escribir. Quería algo divertido que fuera más yo. No soy de mirar hacia atrás, pero es bueno hacerlo de vez en cuando para ver cómo he cambiado. Viendo las imágenes de cada uno de mis cumpleaños, me di cuenta de que hay amigos que siempre están allí, cuánto me quiere mi familia y qué cosas han sido constantes en mi vida. Dado que este es mi último año en mis veinte, decidí mirar los últimos nueve años para ver dónde estaba. Continúa leyendo para ver algunas fotos viejas y unos pequeños comentarios de lo que sucedió cada año.

Estaba en mi segundo año de universidad. No puedo dejar de pensar en lo poco que sabía sobre la vida.

Este fue el año en que terminé la universidad y tuve que decidir qué hacer con mi vida profesional.

2011: el año en que obtuve mi título de abogada y con un par de amigos / colegas decidimos comenzar un bufete de abogados. ¿Quién hubiera pensado que iba a hacer eso durante los próximos 5 años?

Fue un año loco. Logre cosas que nunca hubiera imaginado con la firma. Por otro lado, mi vida personal estaba a punto de dar un giro.

Véame aquí. Habrías pensado que me encantaba ir de fiesta. Solo quería hacer algo divertido para mi cumpleaños, ya que cayó un viernes o sábado. Ese también fue el año en que fui a China y sin dudas, fue uno de los mejores viajes de mi vida (aunque la mitad fue por trabajo).

Este fue uno de los años más difíciles para mí. No sabía que hacer sobre mi carrera y pase por unos problemas emocionales. Hacer ejercicio fue una de las cosas que me ayudaron.

Todavía estaba lidiando con algunos problemas, pero finalmente estaba decidiendo qué quería hacer con mi futuro. La única duda en mi mente era cómo hacerlo. Nada emocionante sucedió en mi cumpleaños ese año, ya cayó el día del padre.

Salí con mis amigos para celebrar lo que pensé que sería mi último cumpleaños en Panamá (al menos por un tiempo). Es curioso que el fin de semana pasado fuimos al mismo bar para mi cumpleaños. El lugar estaba bien tranquilo y vacío. Es interesante cómo las cosas pueden cambiar en una pequeña cantidad de tiempo.

La primera vez que celebré mi cumpleaños lejos de mi familia. Pensé que iba a ser difícil, pero fue agradable y silencioso. Dos de mis buenas amigas de la maestría me invitaron a cenar.

No estaba de humor para celebrar, pero mis amigos me convencieron de hacerlo. Aunque no hice nada grande, fue divertido pasar un tiempo con ellos.
