Hello guys! On December of each year, we wait to see which will be Pantone color of the following year. For 2018 we got ultraviolet and I can totally see myself wearing it. It was a struggle to fit greenery in my wardrobe in 2017 (even though I now realize that I have a couple of pieces in that tone) as well as rose quartz and serenity in 2016. I only had one piece in that color and was able to create an outfit post inspired by them – because they couldn’t pick just one color as usual-. For this year pick, I didn’t have anything that could exactly match that color and I didn’t want to buy something just for the blog. I had these shoes that are not ultraviolet but they are close to it. I got them in an attempt to introduce more color into my wardrobe. For the purpose of this post, I’m aware they are not the exact same color as the color of the year. What I have learned since I began the blog is to not take the color of the year literally, but as an inspiration. It can help you bring out pieces you didn’t remember you have in your closet. At the same time, so many inspiration boards came out with the new color that it is a great way to get ideas and revamp your style. Some ways you can incorporate ultraviolet into your closet are:
Accessorize.
You don’t have to get pants or a top in this specific color. You could get a great pair of earrings, a chunky necklace, colorful sunglasses or even a purse. It will be an easy way to add color to your outfit. If you are worried about the cost per wear, accessories are something you will definitely use more than once!
Makeup.
Bold lipsticks and eyeshadows are a big trend this year. Leave behind the classic shades and start 2018 with colorful and vibrant tones. Bonus trick • If you want the color to pop, make sure to put on eye primer or a white shadow as a base. The color will be brighter no matter your skin tone!
Shoes.
As I mentioned before I’m trying to add color to my closet. I’m avoiding getting black and camel shoes and going for more vibrant colors. You’ll wear it way more than a top and will allow you to create way more outfits with it when combined with the classics (i.e. little black dress, white button up and jeans). ¡Hola chicos! En diciembre de cada año, esperamos ver cuál será el color Pantone del año siguiente. Para el año 2018 tenemos el “ultraviolet”. ¡Por fin un color que estoy dispuesta a usar! Fue una lucha encontrar algo para el “greenery” del 2017 (aunque ahora me doy cuenta de que tengo unas cuantas piezas en ese tono), así como “rose quartz” y “serenity” en 2016. Solo tenía una pieza del primero, pero me las ingenie para crear un outfit que incluyera ambos tonos (porque no podían escoger uno como lo hacen usualmente ugh). Para la selección de este año, no tenía nada que pudiera coincidir exactamente con ese color y no quería comprar algo solo para el blog. Tenía estos zapatos que no el mismo color pero sí están en la misma familia. Los obtuve en un intento de introducir más color en mi armario. Para el propósito de esta publicación, estoy consciente de que no son exactamente del mismo color que del año. Lo que he aprendido desde que comencé el blog es no tomar el color del año literalmente, sino como inspiración. Puede ayudarte a sacar piezas que no recordabas tener en tu armario. Al mismo tiempo, hay tantas publicaciones hablando del nuevo color que es una excelente manera de obtener ideas y renovar tu estilo. Algunas formas en que puedes incorporar el “ultraviolet” en tu closet son:
Accesorios.
No tienes que conseguir pantalones o un top en este color. Puedes lograrlo con unos coloridos aretes, un collar grueso, lentes de sol e incluso un bolso. Será una forma fácil de agregar color a tu atuendo. Si te preocupa el costo por uso, los accesorios son algo que definitivamente utilizaras más de una vez.
Maquillaje.
Los labiales y las sombras de ojos coloridos son una de las mayores tendencias de este año. Deja atrás los tonos clásicos y comienza el 2018 con tonos coloridos y vibrantes. Un tip • si quieres que el color resalte bastante, ponte un primer de ojos o una sombra blanca como base. ¡El color se verá bien vibrante sin importar el tono de tu piel!
Zapatos.
Como mencioné anteriormente, intento agregar color a mi armario. Estoy evitando los zapatos negros y en tonos marrones, y busco colores más vibrantes. Lo usarás mucho más que un top y te permitirá crear más trajes con él cuando se combine con los clásicos (por ejemplo, un vestidito negro, una camisa blanca y unos jeans). ¿De qué otra manera te ves añadiendo este color a tu armario? ¡Házmelo saber! A pesar de que estoy pendiente de cuál será el Pantone del año, no salgo a comprar, sino que trato de encontrar algo que ya tengo y lo pongo en rotación. Usualmente encuentro algo: un líquido de una, algún pañuelo que empiezo a incorporar.
