Vinyl is one of those fabrics I have been reluctant to wear. I have seen skirts, shoes, and pants made of it. One of the reasons I wasn’t too convinced about it was that it could be too hot for Panama weather. The other reason was that I usually don’t wear flashy pieces. At the end of last year, I changed my mind and decided to get them. I saw so many ideas on how to dress it down and up that I was up to the challenge. After getting this pair I realized that all my fears were unfounded. What was I able to discover?
Look for a piece that is lined.
This goes for faux leather, coated denim and anything else that is warm by nature or could cause discomfort. It is the only reason I was able to dance the night off with the pants pictured in this post on New Years.
Get a style you are used to wearing.
I love high waist/mom style cut so I feel comfortable styling that type of pants. If you are more into skirts or skinny trousers opt for that style. Is all about going for something that you are used to but with a different finish – in this case, vinyl.
Don’t be afraid of standing out.
You can’t buy style in a store. Style is about being you and wearing that feels right. If you feel comfortable wearing vinyl pants (or faux leather or coated denim) do it! People will look and for ALL the right reasons!

El vinilo es una de esas telas que he estado reacia a usar. He visto faldas, zapatos y pantalones hechos de él. Una de las razones por las que no estaba muy convencida era que pensaba que podría ser demasiado caliente para el clima de Panamá. La otra razón es que generalmente no uso piezas llamativas. A finales del año pasado, cambié de parecer y decidí conseguirme mi primer par. Vi tantas ideas sobre cómo usarlo que me dije “¿¡porque no!?”. Después de obtener este par, me di cuenta de que todos mis miedos eran infundados. ¿Qué pude descubrir?
Busca una pieza que tenga forro.
Considera esto con el faux-leather, coated denim y cualquier otra tela que por lo general pueda causar molestias. Gracias al forro que tiene el pantalón de este post, pude bailar toda la noche en Año Nuevo.
Elige un estilo que estés acostumbrado a usar.
Por ejemplo a mi me encanta los high-waist y mom jeans, así que me siento cómoda combinando este tipo de pantalones. Si eres mas de usar faldas o pantalones pitillo elige ese estilo. Se trata de ir por algo en lo que te sientas cómoda pero con un acabado diferente, en este caso, el vinilo.
Que no te de miedo sobresalir.
El estilo no es algo que compras en una tienda. Se trata de ser tú mismo y usar cosas en las que te sientas la mejor versión de ti. Si te sientes cómoda vistiendo pantalones de vinilo (o faux-leather o coated denim) ¡hazlo! ¡La gente te mirará con justo motivo!

Tenía una falda de vinilo y por no usarla casi nunca se descascarilló por la humedad así que tienes que ver cómo haces para que esos pantalones te duren porque están geniales-
