How to style Sequin dresses these Holidays

A couple of weeks ago I went to Zara and saw their new collection. Several pieces included sequins and I realized it was going to be a must in all of our closets these holidays. I didn’t buy anything since I had this little number waiting for me at home. I got it years ago and it still fits like a glove. The trickiest part was styling it. All that shine can make it feel like a daunting task since let us be honest: you are wearing the piece that made “Kira Kira” famous. So how can you make sure you shine the right way with a sequin dress?

When wearing a sequin dress it is clear that you will be heading to a party so this is one of those few moments you shouldn’t be afraid of doing more. Don’t be scared of wearing ONE big bold accessory. The key to avoiding any clashes is that if they have any hardware it should match the tones of the dress. In this case, I had a gold sequin dress and the earrings had gold hardware.
Keep everything else simple. My clutch and shoes were plain; they had one color all over.
Make sure you wear the right underwear. The same way you have to be careful of what you wear underneath sheer pieces, you have to be with sequin dresses. If they are “bodycon” like the one I’m wearing avoid anything that will give the dress unflattering marks (such as visible panty lines). If the dress is looser keep in mind the bra style you will use.

After you nailed the above, you’ll see it’s pretty easy to style this type of dresses. Now get ready to impress and head to that party that is waiting for you!

Hace un par de semanas fui a Zara y vi su nueva colección. Varias piezas incluían lentejuelas y me di cuenta de que sería un “must” en nuestros closets para estas fiestas de fin de año. No compré nada porque tenía este vestidito esperándome en casa. Lo obtuve hace años y aún me queda como un guante. La parte más difícil siempre es combinarlo. Artículos como estos pueden hacer que combinarlos sea una tarea difícil por la cantidad de brillo que tienen. Entonces, ¿cómo puedes asegurarte de que te veras excelente con un vestido de lentejuelas?

Cuando llevas un vestido de lentejuelas, está claro que vas a una fiesta, por lo que este es uno de esos pocos momentos en los puedes hacer un poco mas que lo usual. No tengas miedo de usar un accesorio que llame la atención. Por lo menos cuando hablamos de joyería, la clave es que si tienen alguna pieza metálica, esta debe coincidir con los tonos del vestido. En este caso, tenía un vestido de lentejuelas doradas y los aretes partes dorados.
Mantén todo lo demás simple. Mi cartera y zapatos eran sencillos; eran de un solo color.
Asegúrate de ponerte la ropa interior adecuada. De la misma manera que tienes que tener cuidado con lo que usas debajo de las piezas transparentes, tienes que tenerlo con vestidos de lentejuelas. Si son “bodycon” como el que llevo, evita cualquier cosa que le dé al vestido marcas poco favorecedoras (como las líneas de visibles del panty). Si el vestido es más holgado, ten en cuenta el estilo de brasier que usaras.

Después de que hayas logrado lo anterior, verás que es bastante fácil combinar este tipo de vestidos. ¡Prepárate para impresionar y ve a la fiesta que te está esperando!
